“It’s raining cats and dogs” is a phrase used to describe our ample monsoon season. It is a time of immense opportunity for fun and games. Especially when you’re shut inside due to Zeus being in a mood. Here’s a few of our choicest activities when the outside is a lot damper than the inside.
-
Reading: There is literally no better feeling in the world than cozying up in a snug corner with a good book and the sound of the rain washing over your ears.
-
Painting: An indoor activity, there is no better time to paint than when nature itself is doing her best to provide you with scenic views outside. Use the greens, the blues, the greys and the whites to paint something scenic, something befitting the might of the earth as it washes over you.
-
Cooking: Take the rain as an opportunity to improve your cooking skills and satiate your taste buds. Time for some onion and potato pakoras as you sit by the window and watch the rain pour.
-
Movie Marathon: It’s not like there aren’t enough options already, with Netflix or Amazon Prime, there is too much to choose from. We recommend Sholay, Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Hera Pheri as classic favourites.
-
Sleeping: Catch up on that lost sleep of the weekdays by making yourself cozy with a nest of pillows and just drift off to dreamland.
-
Music: Turn on the newest monsoon playlist, or even better, create your own. There has never been a problem that the right tunes can’t solve.
The rains don’t always have to be an inconvenience. Many a times they offer us an opportunity to do something we would otherwise not have had the time for. These are just a few things you could do when its pelting drops of water outside. And the most important thing to remember? Have fun!
