The heat wave in Pune this year has left everyone panting. Due to the Urban Heat Island Effect, temperatures in cities are much higher than those in rural areas.
In cities, everyone is always looking for a cool spot under the shade of a tree for some temporary relief from the scorching sun.
But unfortunately, there aren’t enough trees.
While everyone needs shelter, most people lay the blame of the lack of trees at the door of real estate developers.
So, Goel Ganga Group has taken on the onus of making Pune a green city through its initiative, Project Chhaya.
Project Chhaya brings together a community of Project Chhaya Champions, people who plant a tree while also gifting one to someone they know, continuing the chain.
Participants are encouraged to click pictures and share it on social media and tag Project Chhaya, so it can reach and inspire more people.
